Semproniana

Ada Parellada born in Barcelona, is a Catalan chef, cookbook author, and activist, awarded the St. George's Cross in 2016.

Born into a family of restaurateurs with over 250 years of history, she opened her flagship restaurant Semproniana in Barcelona in 1993. She has authored around twenty cookbooks and a novel, and regularly appears in media to promote home cooking traditions.

Ada is also a dedicated activist against food waste, coordinating Gastrorecup, a campaign by the Government of Catalonia to reduce waste in the catering sector.
