Bar Torpedo
Bar Torpedo is a late-night gourmet sandwich bar in Barcelona's Eixample district, created by chef Rafa Peña of Gresca fame. The story goes that Peña was frustrated by the lack of quality late-night food after long kitchen shifts, so he opened Torpedo in 2018 as a place where restaurant industry workers could eat exceptionally well after midnight.
The menu is a celebration of gourmet sandwiches, burgers, and fried snacks made with serious ingredients. The burger features aged Galician beef, while signatures include the bikini de pastrami de lengua (beef tongue pastrami on croissant bread), Kentucky fried quail, and the Crack Pie dessert . The patatas bravas and lamb ribs sandwich are also widely recommended.
The space is retro 1980s-styled with intense green walls, red leather banquettes, and vintage arcade games. It's deliberately loud and buzzy — not a place for quiet conversation, but perfect for late-night gatherings.
