Carles Gaig

Petit Comitè

Carles Gaig is the current patriarch and fourth generation of the Gaig family. Alongside his wife, Fina Navarro, and his daughter, Nuria Gibert, he continues a culinary legacy deeply rooted in the traditions of Catalan cuisine.
Growing up surrounded by the aromas and techniques that define the region's culinary heritage, Carles developed a profound appreciation for its traditions. In 1989, he took a bold step, transforming his family's century-old restaurant, marking a major turning point in its evolution. This transformation earned him a coveted Michelin star in 1993, cementing his reputation as a culinary master.
His career has been consistently recognized by prestigious Spanish institutions. Among many other honors, he received the National Award for Best Chef from the Royal Academy of Gastronomy in 1999 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy in 2013.
